Edu360 — Team user guide

Edu360 is one education super-app for the whole sector: students, parents, teachers, school leadership and ministry staff all run the same app, but each role sees a different set of features.

Structure

• The shell — sign-in, home, news, notifications, profile, settings.
• Mini apps — 45 business apps living inside the shell (attendance, tuition, results, admissions, dormitory, bus tracking…). Each mini app decides which roles may enter.

Requirements

Install

1. Android: install Edu360 from Google Play — see the install page, or the QR in the footer.
2. iPhone and iPad: install Edu360 from the App Store — see the install page, or the App Store QR in the footer.
3. Updates install over the previous build — your sign-in state is kept.

First sign-in

1. Open the app. The Login screen appears.
2. Enter the phone number. Mytel numbers only, as 09… or the digits after +95.
3. Request the code. A 6-digit OTP arrives by SMS.
4. Let Android fill it in. If autofill does not run: open the SMS notification, copy the code, then tap Paste code in the OTP field.
5. Tap Verify OTP. On success the app registers this handset as a trusted device.

Later sign-ins

Once the device is trusted the app shows Welcome back and unlocks with:

• Unlock with passcode — the app PIN.
• Unlock with biometrics — fingerprint or face, if the handset supports it.
• Use SMS OTP instead — fall back to the SMS code.
• Use a different phone number — sign in as someone else.

Top bar

• Avatar and user name, with the organisation badge next to it.
• Magnifier — quick in-app search.
• Bell — notifications, with an unread count.

Home blocks

Navigation: two floating buttons

There is no bottom tab bar. Every screen carries two floating controls:

• Pink round button, bottom right — opens the quick-access menu: Home, News, Mini Apps, Profile, Settings. Tap the dimmed background or press the device back button to close it.
• Grey round button, bottom left — goes back one screen. On Home it does nothing, because there is nothing left to pop.

Scrolling Home down hides both controls; scrolling back up brings them in again.

Several schools or profiles

Accounts attached to more than one school get a school-context bar and a Switch school action. Switching reloads linked profiles, schedules and notifications for the selected school.

Finding an app

• Search box — type an app, tool or shortcut name.
• Filters: All · Favorites · Recent, plus category chips: Learning, Finance, Management, Communication, Utilities.

Customising

1. Tap the pencil icon (Edit apps) at the top right.
2. Add or remove Favorites; pin or unpin Quick access.
3. Tap Done editing to leave edit mode.
4. The icon left of the pencil toggles grid and list view.

Quick access holds at most 6 pinned apps. To pin another one, unpin something first.

What happens when an app opens

Each launch is gated: allow, warn or block. Apps run in one of three ways — a Flutter surface built into the app, a web package downloaded from the CDN, or a fallback screen when the current session cannot open that app.

• Search by headline.
• Category chips: All news · Scholarships · Tuition · Exams · Events · Announcements · Policies.
• Featured is pinned editorial; Trending is what is being read now.
• Each card shows the category, publish date and estimated reading time.
• Tap a card for the full article; articles with a file show its type (for example PDF).

Inside an article

• Share copies the headline to the clipboard for pasting elsewhere. There is no public web URL per article yet, so no link is sent.
• Bookmark saves the article. A failed save reports an error rather than a fake success.
• Up to three related articles from the same category appear at the bottom.

• Open with the bell on Home; the badge is the unread count.
• Unread items are highlighted; opening one marks it read.
• Some notifications carry an action — open the related mini app, approve a request.
• Turn individual categories on and off in Settings → Preferences → Notification preferences.
• Tapping a notification jumps straight to what it refers to: the related mini app, a news article or an approval screen. Items without a specific link open a screen chosen by type (exams, attendance, tuition, results, events…).
• Swiping a row is visual feedback only — it does not delete. Use the per-row delete and read/unread buttons.

Each block collapses and expands with Collapse / Expand.

Sign out

Signing out clears the local session and returns to Login. The device stays trusted, so the next sign-in is faster.

Three layers

1. SMS OTP the first time an account signs in on a handset.
2. Trusted device — the handset is registered to the account; unknown devices must verify.
3. App passcode / biometrics — fast unlock plus auto-lock when the phone is idle.

Re-authentication for sensitive actions

Some actions always re-authenticate immediately before they run, even inside a live session:

• Payments, wallet movements and tuition.
• Changing identity data, phone numbers or trusted devices.
• Management approvals.

The app presents passcode, biometrics or SmartOTP before writing. Cancelling there means the action does not happen.

Every mini app declares the roles allowed in and its maximum governance scope:

So the same mini app shows one school to a principal and a multi-school roll-up to ministry staff. That is by design, not a display fault.

A usable bug report carries six things:

1. Screenshot — full screen, status bar included.
2. Device ID — Settings → App info → tap the Device ID to copy it.
3. App version — same place as the Device ID.
4. Role and phone number used to sign in (the number only — never the OTP).
5. Mini app and the action you were performing.
6. Timestamp to the minute, so server logs can be matched.
